Invitation – Teachers’ visits to ITER in Cadarache, France
The European Commission has the pleasure of inviting teachers from your association to visit ITER, the fusion energy project under construction in Cadarache, France.
Visiting ITER will be an inspiring experience for teachers, who will have the rare opportunity to get a glimpse of what will be the world’s largest and most sophisticated experimental fusion reactor. Upon returning to their schools, the teachers will be asked to dedicate classroom time to passing the knowledge gained on to their students, thereby raising awareness about this exciting field where the skills of young Europeans can make a difference in the world.
We have scheduled two visits to ITER on separate dates, each accommodating 35 teachers (70 in total). Teachers must arrive one day before their chosen visit date while having the option to stay up to two nights in Aix-en-Provence:
• Visit 1 on 26 March 2024
• Visit 2 on 28 March 2024.
The one-day programme will consist of an introduction to the ITER project followed by a worksite tour and an interactive workshop. The organisers will cover the cost of accommodation, travel, and meal.
Note that there is a limited number of places available for each proposed date [1] and that before disseminating this invitation among your teachers, we kindly ask you to read carefully the attached file on the selection criteria and application procedure.
We kindly ask you to share this invitation with teachers and those who are interested in participating, to fill in the following registration form no later than 31 January 2024:
